This simple herb compound butter is easy to make and digestive-friendly, using gut-friendly Gourmend products.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh chives, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 teaspoon Gourmend Garlic Scape Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Gourmend Green Onion Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, add softened butter and olive oil.
  2. Mix in the parsley, chives, Gourmend Garlic Scape Powder, Green Onion Powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Serve immediately or shape into a log and chill for later use.

Notes

  • Fresh herbs are ideal, but dried herbs work almost as well, in a pinch!

How to Serve

  • Spread on bread or crackers

  • Toast on bread for garlic-herb toast

  • Melt over steamed vegetables or grilled meats

  • Stir into warm rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta

Storage

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

  • Freeze for up to 3 months. For easy use, freeze in a log shape or in small portions (like an ice cube tray).
