My Favorite Kitchen Utensils

Now that the flurry of Amazon Days is behind us and our carts are (temporarily) empty… I wanted to slow things down a bit and share a few of my forever favorite kitchen utensils from Etsy—pieces I actually use every single day in my kitchen. Some of these are handcrafted treasures from small makers, and others are just really well-made, thoughtful designs that have stood the test of daily cooking (and kiddos “helping”).
Note: Some of the links in this post are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you purchase through them—at no additional cost to you! Others are just things I love and want to shout about from the rooftops (no affiliate involved).
While Amazon might deliver in two days, these handcrafted and thoughtfully sourced pieces are the ones that make my kitchen feel like home. If you’ve been thinking of upgrading your utensils or want to support some small makers in the process—start here!
So let’s dig into the tried-and-true kitchen items that have earned a permanent spot on my counter, in my drawers, and honestly—on my heart.
Not Etsy, but Handmade + a Tool I Use Every Day
1. The Spoon That Does It All

Waletzko Primitive Craft – Hand-Carved Utility Spoon

This spoon is the real MVP of my kitchen. You’ve seen it make cameos in tons of my recipe photos—because I use it for everything: stirring sauces, scooping risotto, or just feeling like an old-school prairie goddess while I’m sautéing onions.
Phil Waletzko carves each spoon by hand—yes, by hand—and every piece is a little work of art. You can grab one (if you’re lucky!) by messaging him directly on Facebook, or catch him at a Midwest craft show. Trust me, it’s worth the hunt.

2. The Cutest Little Salt Cellar on My Counter

Dwelling Decor Design – Handmade Ceramic Salt Cellar with Spoon
✨ Buy it here or message her on Etsy
This sweet ceramic salt cellar is one of those things that makes me happy every single time I reach for a pinch. It’s handmade, perfectly sized, and yes—it comes with a tiny spoon (bonus points for cuteness + functionality).
If it’s sold out (which happens!), just send her a message—she’s lovely to work with and often restocks or takes custom orders.
3. The Measuring Cups and Spoons That Finally Got It Right

Taza Kitchenware – Measuring Cups and Spoons Set
📏 Check them out here
I’ve gone through a lot of measuring sets over the years. Some were flimsy, some warped, and most of them were missing those weird sizes that maybe not everyone uses, but they get used.
These are sturdy, beautifully designed, and come with all the sizes I need—and then some. Reliable and pretty? Yes, please.
4. The Prettiest + Toughest Wood Utensil Set

RefinementHouse – 7 Piece Teak Wood Kitchen Utensil Set
🍽 Find them here
Okay, confession: I didn’t know I could love a wood type until I met teak. These are strong, smooth, and gentle on my enameled cast iron (which we know is sacred around here).
Whether I’m flipping French toast or scooping stir-fry, these get daily use—and they’re holding up beautifully.
