Yes, I realize that technically Fall is in the middle of September. But let’s be real, I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling or wanting the fall season as soon as the kids are back in school. Nothing says fall more than a steaming hot cup of coffee on cool mornings with a splash of pumpkin coffee creamer, topped with cinnamon whipped cream. Serve it up with a slice of apple pumpkin bread and you have a fall dream come true. I used to just buy pumpkin spice creamer from the store, but now I make my own! You use real pumpkins and can adjust the spices to your liking.

Pumpkin creamer is honestly so easy to make and comes together in just 15 minutes (maybe 20 depending on your stove).

QUICK OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS

These ingredients come together to make the perfect pumpkin spice coffee creamer that will have you thinking about pumpkin pie.

Brown sugar uses molasses with white sugar and gives the pumpkin spice creamer a nice rich flavor. Replace with equal parts white sugar, honey, or maple syrup. Note: If you chose maple syrup you also need to cut back on the evaporated milk but ¼ cup

Pumpkin purée is what gives this creamer its real pumpkin flavor and ¼ cup is all you need. Store leftover pumpkin in a food-safe container in the fridge or freeze the puree into perfect-sized portions with these silicon portion trays!

Pumpkin Spice is what makes this creamer go from pumpkin to PUMPKIN PIE!

Evaporated milk is unsweetened condensed milk. It’s thicker than regular milk, but not as fatty as heavy cream. So it helps create the creamer without making it too fatty or too thin. Replace with equal parts coconut milk.

Heavy cream also known as heavy whipping cream or simply cream, adds a rich creaminess to this creamer. Don’t have any on hand? Replace with equal parts half and half or coconut cream.

Sweetened condensed milk is a very thick sweet evaporated milk. It adds sweetness and a luxurious creamy texture to it. Replace with equal parts full-fat coconut milk.

vanilla extract adds a subtle flavor, enhances the other flavors, and adds a slight hint of sweetness.

COOKING WITH KIDS

  • older kids (or kids ok to use the stove): Everything including cooking and mixing
  • Younger kids: Because a lot of this is hot, I would recommend avoiding letting small children stir or handle hot ingredients. It’s best you (or an older child) actually cook it. But they could do the following…
  • Measure all ingredients. Have them put everything in small condiment bowls.
  • help prep the jars (put the funnel or label on).

Store.  Pour into a jar or small carafe. Use immediately or store your pumpkin spice creamer, in your choice of container, in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.

STORAGE DETAILS

Pour into a 32oz food storage Jar, 32oz Glass Milk Bottle, or a 32oz swing-top bottle, or other container of your choice.

  • Stored in the fridge for 1-2 weeks
  • For Easy portion sizes; freeze in silicone ice cube trays. Once frozen, remove it and put it into a storage bag to be used anytime!
    • I highly recommend warming it in your mug first, then adding your coffee. Unless your coffee is extremely hot and you want the cube to cool off your coffee.

USING THE CREAMER

Add your pumpkin spice creamer to coffee, tea, or even a shot of espresso! If you do the espresso, I highly recommend you heat the creamer first (and you may need to add a little milk to lighten the sweetness, depending on your taste.

To add a fun finish, top your coffee with try adding whipped cream!!!
