Keep the Oven Off: No-Oven Summer Recipes We Actually Make
From fresh salads to juicy tomatoes, savor the flavors of summer with these delightful and healthy recipes.
It happens every June. The days get long, the house gets warm, and suddenly the idea of turning on the oven feels like a personal offense. Iβm right there with you.
Over the years Iβve built out a rotation of recipes that carry us through summer without touching the oven dial β or at least barely touching it. Salads that work as full meals. Marinades that do the heavy lifting on the grill. Cold drinks that are actually worth making. The kind of food that travels well to the lake, holds up on a picnic table, and doesnβt require you to stand over a hot stove for an hour.
This is an updated version of my summer recipe roundup β Iβve added a lot of new recipes since I first put this together, and they make it so much better. Whether youβre planning a Fourth of July spread, a casual backyard dinner, or just trying to feed a hungry family on a Wednesday in August without heating up the kitchen β this is the list.
A few things I keep coming back to every summer: the Marinated Cherry Tomato & Mozzarella Salad (genuinely zero effort, genuinely impressive), the Lemon Taco Marinade on literally everything that goes on the grill, and the Vietnamese Iced Cold Brew as my daily summer coffee situation.
