Wisconsin Supper Club Beer Batter Mix

Here’s an easy, gift-worthy version of my Wisconsin Supper Club Beer Batter Fried Fish. This beer batter mix is a cute, thoughtful, and affordable gift for really any time of the year, but with Father’s Day coming up, and if the dads in your life are anything like my husband, this gift is sure to please.

This recipe yields enough dry mix to make 2 – 4 lb fish batches. To make the batter, simply whisk together this mix with your favorite pale ale.

The lightest and crispiest Beer Batter Mix recipe. The baking powder and carbonation in the beer make the fish batter delicate and puffy, just like a good ole fashioned Supper Club. Makes a great gift for any fish fry lover in your life.

  1. In a medium mixing bowl put in the flour, black pepper, salt, garlic and onion powder, baking powder, and cayenne pepper. Then whisk them all together.
  2. Pour the contents into a mason jar of your choice
  3. Print the labels and instruction cards, then tie the instruction cards onto the jar.
  4. Your gift is ready!

Most homemade dry mixes can last up to a year in a food-safe jar without losing flavor or the activeness of the active ingredients.
